Sarder Nayeem Bangladesh

Prof. Dr. Sarder A. Nayeem: The pioneer laparoscopic surgeon of Bangladesh Professor Sarder A Nayeem is presently the Chairman and Chief Surgeon of Japan Bangladesh Friendship Hospital, Dhaka, Bangladesh. He was the Past-President of the Society of Endolaparoscopic Surgeons of Bangladesh (SELSB) and Chairman of Bangladesh Endo-Laparoscopic Surgery Foundation (BELSF). After completing his Ph.D. in surgery from University of Tokyo Dr. Nayeem has pioneered laparoscopic surgery  in Bangladesh in 1991 and trained more than 500 surgeons in this field. He is a former Professor of Surgery in the Faculty of Medicine of the University of Dhaka. Dr. Nayeem is a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons (FACS) and presently the President of the ACS-Bangladesh Chapter. Prof. Sarder Nayeem is a Founder Member of ELSA and presently a Governor of ELSA. He is the past Secretary General of APHS. He is also the Vice President of the Society of Surgeons of Bangladesh (SOSB), which is the parent organisation of all surgical specialties in Bangladesh. Prof. Nayeem has received the prestigious Honorary Fellowship of the Indian Association of Gastrointestinal Endo-Surgeons (FIAGES) and also received Fellowship of the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Glasgow (FRCS). He is also actively involved in many other national and international academic, socio-cultural and voluntary organisations.
