Sze Li Siow Malaysia
Dr. Siow Sze Li, President of the College of Surgeons, Academy of Medicine of Malaysia, heads the General Surgery Department and Day Care Service at Sarawak General Hospital. An authority in minimally invasive gastrointestinal, bariatric, and hernia surgery, he founded laparoscopic and bariatric services in Sarawak and performed Malaysia’s first single-incision laparoscopic cholecystectomy. Dr. Siow holds an MBBS from Monash University and a Master of Surgery from the University of Malaya, training in advanced laparoscopic surgery in France under Prof. Jean-Louis Duluq. A Fellow of the Academy of Medicine of Malaysia and the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Glasgow, he is also an honorary fellow of the Association of Surgeons of India. He has held key positions in surgical societies, served as an adjunct professor at Taylor’s University, and contributed significantly to minimally invasive surgery, enhancing patient care and surgical practices.
