Dr Kim Guowei completed surgical training in 2016, after becoming a Fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons (Edinburgh). He then spent a year in Korea, mastering laparoscopic and robotic surgery at Seoul National University Bundang Hospital and served as a senior consultant at National University Hospital (NUH), Singapore, where he was the Program Director of the General Surgery Residency Program, prior to leaving for private practice. He still serves an Assistant Professor at National University of Singapore, and as a visiting consultant at NUH, Ng Teng Fong General Hospital and Tan Tock Seng Hospital, Singapore. He is also the President Elect of the Obesity and Metabolic Surgery Society of Singapore (OMSSS) and a Board Member (Upper GI lead) for the Robotic Surgery Society of Singapore (RS3). He currently practices at Mount Elizabeth Hospital and Gleneagles Hospital, Singapore.
