Dr. Choi is a distinguished Professor of Surgery at Kyung Hee University Hospital in Gangdong, Seoul, Korea. He earned his medical degree from Kyung Hee University and later obtained a Ph.D. from Sungkyunkwan National University in 2005. Dr. Choi is renowned for his expertise in Gastric cancer, Metabolic & Bariatric surgery, and Hernia surgery. Between October 2014 and August 2016, Dr. Choi expanded his research horizons by working as a research fellow at M.D. Anderson Cancer Center in Texas, USA. His contributions to hernia surgery have been particularly noteworthy, leading to his current roles as Secretary General and President-Elect of the Korea Hernia Society. Additionally, he is an executive member of the Asia Pacific Hernia Society (APHS). Dr. Choi has a prolific academic career, having published over 40 papers in peer-reviewed journals. His extensive research and clinical work continue to advance the fields of gastric cancer and bariatric surgery, making significant impacts both in Korea and internationally.
