Grigoris Chatzimavroudis is Professor of Surgery at Medical Scool of Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, Greece and Head of the Complex Hernia & Abdominal Wall Reconstruction Center at the European Interbalkan Medical Center of Thessaloniki, Greece, an accredited Center of Excellence in Hernia Surgery. Moreover, he is Vice President and President Elect of the Greek Hernia Society.
Professor Chatzimavroudis’ main clinical and academic interests are focused on abdominal wall hernia surgery. He is performing all types of hernia repair, with open, laparoscopic and robotic techniques. Due to his expertise in complex abdominal wall hernia surgery, he has been invited in many countries to operate patients with complex hernias, while he has participated in international hernia congresses, symposiums, webinars, web-teaching courses, masterclasses and workshops for complex hernia management and component separation techniques as an invited speaker and instructor. Each year he organizes in his Center many hands-on workshops and masterclasses for complex abdominal wall hernia repair with international attendees. He is a member of 12 international medical societies and has been awarded so far with 2 awards of excellence, 4 scholarships and 10 first prizes for best oral presentation. He has published more than 190 papers in international peer-reviewed journals, indexed in Pubmed/Scopus, with an IF>550, Hirsch index 25 and more than 2100 citations.
