Professor of Surgery and Surgical Oncology •Professor of Surgery at Bahcesehir University (BAU) Istanbul, Turkey and Sapienza University of Rome, Italy •General surgical training in Ankara-Turkey and also completed training in gastrointestinal surgery with M.S degree in Southampton-UK. •Assoc Prof in 1999, Professor in 2010 and Surgical Oncology specialist in 2012. •He is the current President of Endoscopic Laparoscopic Surgeons of Asia (ELSA) and He was also the congress president for ELSA-2023. •He was the founder and the president of Turkish Society for Metabolic and Bariatric Surgery (TSMBS) 2014-2022. •He was the vice-President of Turkish Surgical Society (2018-2022) and now the exec-board member of Turkish Surgical Society. •He has F.R.C.S degree (Glasgow, UK), and He is also the Fellow of the American College of Surgeons (F.A.C.S) and the Fellow of American Society for Metabolic and Bariatric Surgery (F.A.S.M.B.S) and has F.E.B.S from UEMS-European Board of Surgery •He has over 200 articles in journals with over 7000 citations, h-index: 43, i-10 index 120 and authored many chapters and books in the field of surgery. •He is also either the editor or editorial board member of many surgical journals.
