Eva Barbosa, MD, MSc, FACS General Surgeon since 2006, initially dedicated to acute care surgery and colorectal surgery. In 2009 started to be more involved into open abdomen treatment, intestinal fistula and complex abdominal wall reconstruction, leading to full dedication to this area in more recent years. She is, since 2021, the head of Complex Abdominal Wall Unit of Hospital São João, a university and referral hospital in Porto, Portugal. She is also the Coordinator of the Abdominal Wall Chapter of the Portuguese Surgical Society and through that an active member of the European Hernia Society. She teaches surgery in the School of Medicine of Porto University and taught Clinical Anatomy for 15 years. Was also part of the board of the Portuguese College of Surgeons from 2021-2023.
