BRIEF PROFILE Dr Ganesh Shenoy.K MS,FMIS(RGUHS),FIAGES,FALS,E-FIAGES Director: Department of Surgical gastroenterology, Minimal Access, General and Bariatric surgery Kauvery hospital , Marathahalli, Bangalore Dr Ganesh Shenoy.K is a renowned Laparoscopic, Gastrointestinal and Bariatric surgeon practicing in Bangalore since past 16 years. He passed his M.B.B.S from Mysore Medical College and M.S, General Surgery from Goa Medical College ,Goa. He did his fellowship in Minimally Invasive Surgery from the prestigious Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences, Bangalore .He got his fellowship degree in advanced laparoscopic surgery from Delhi. He has worked as Consultant in the Department of Minimal Access, GI and Bariatric surgery at B.G.S.Global Hospital and Anugraha Vittala (A.V) Hospital, Bangalore. He was the Head and Director of Department of Minimal Access , GI and Bariatric surgery at Fortis Hospital,Cunningham Road, Bangalore. He has been invited as an operating faculty to demonstrate laparoscopic GI surgeries and laparoscopic hernia surgeries in many National and State conferences. He has trained many General surgeons, Oncosurgeons and GI surgeons from almost all states of our country, from Asia Pacific region and U.S.A in the field of Laparoscopic GI, GI cancers, Basic and advanced laparoscopic hernia surgeries. He has more than 30 publications till now in peer reviewed, renowned National and International journals. Dr Ganesh Shenoy has authored many chapters in the field of hernia in text books of laparoscopic and GI surgery.He has delivered more than 100 video lectures in National and International conferences as a faculty. Dr Ganesh was the Director and Chief coordinator of FIMAST-Fortis Institute of Minimal Access Surgery Training under which he conducted several training programs in the field of laparoscopic hernia surgery endorsed by Hernia Society of India, the National body of Asia Pacific Hernia Society. This pioneering work in the field of herniology and training surgeons from different parts of the country ,including surgeons from rural areas earned him the “ Centre of Excellence in Hernia Surgery” award by Hernia Society of India. He has received many best paper and best video presentation awards in conferences. Dr Shenoy was the recipient of “Oscar award” for best technical video during AWR International conference at Delhi and “Mahadevan award” for best technical paper presentation awarded by Karnataka State Chapter- Association of surgeons of India to name a few. In recognition of his work in research, innovations and training he was awarded the “Best Researcher award of 2023” by Indian Association of Gastro-Intestinal Endo Surgeons. Dr Shenoy was the former Executive Committee member of Surgical Society of Bangalore and Hernia Society of India. He is also the faculty for Hernia Essentials Program of Asia Pacific Hernia Society.
